Donald Trump aims to isolate Iran over the nuclear agreement he sees as faulty. However his desire to break away from Obama's legacy may eventually bring a loss of confidence in America's commitment and ability to assert itself unilaterally on this matter. On 7 October 2017 Dr Najam Abbas was interviewed by BBC Urdu. Russia is taking steps to make Saudi Arabia diversify it relations which have been focussedly US-centric for long. On its part Saudi Arabia too is trying to offer Russia a counter-balance to wean off its over dependence towards Iran by hinting to Moscow an interest to become an even bigger and more affluent partner and arms.
